Final Preparations

Your first order of business now that you've finished your application financing is to communicate with us here at the academy. A simple phone call to our administration team or even just an email to say that you've applied helps us know where you are in the process. We know that it can take some time to hear back about financing so this part is important.

During the time that you will be waiting to hear back from wherever you've chosen to apply for your financing there are a few things that you can do to make your transition, financially, into full time studies. The first one is understanding your budget. You need to ask yourself if you will need to work part time while you are attending the academy. We have seen a number of students successfully attend and work at the same time. If you think that you may need to talk to someone about it, we are here to help. We can help you understand budgeting and the time commitment it takes to deal with your courses.

The second part of your budget should take you back to the part where you calculated your needs. Its is crucial to your success and your financial health to know how much money monthly you'll be budgeting for. Once you know these numbers, you should try to stay within those budgets to avoid issues closer to the end of your education. Overspending at the beginning often leads to issues later. Its best to curb excess spending as much as possible throughout the start of your education. Especially if your spending on anything other than your needs or your education. This allows you to understand what to expect and to manage unexpected expenses. The more you save, the more you'll have.

The beginning of your education is exciting. We want you to be as prepared as possible. Here are a few examples of things that we've recognized that students often don't anticipate financially at the start.

1. Beauty Education is fun. But it can also be intense and often more difficult that you anticipate. The added stress of a job can sometimes make managing finances and grades more of a balancing type of situation. If you find this happens, you should definitely feel free to come speak to us about it. Being proactive is key.

2. There are expenses that aren't covered by your tuition/books amounts. Items you need to be in dress code, water bottles, writing supplies and anything you need outside of your kits, you will need to account for in your budget.

3. It can be very tempting to purchase lunches and coffee while your on the go. This can get very expensive. We suggest limiting treat days where you can grab a lunch, and bringing your lunch as much as possible. We also have coffee in the student lounge. This makes it easy to avoid $5 coffees, if your inclined.

4. Extra curricular activities are often offered, as well as extra classes and events. These are not included in your classes, tuition or kits so we recommend keeping some money aside for those types of unexpected. Of course these items aren't mandatory. But we want to make sure that you know, to avoid disappointment, if you decided you wanted to take part.

After taking all of that into account, there's only one more step and it's super easy!
